Zombies falling in LOVE; teenage magic angst; romantic THRILLERS …all hitting the cinemas in February.
Warm Bodies by Issac Mario
Described as a zombie-romance, I am sure parallels may be drawn with certain vampire-romance novels-turned-films. The rise of self-publishing seems unstoppable, as the author, Isaac Marion, originally published it as a short story titled “I am a Zombie filled with love”. With a mixed bag cast, the film is due to be released on 1st February.
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Able to claim being a New York Times bestselling Young Adult fiction novel, Beautiful Creatures already has an established following. Written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, it is the first novel in the Caster Chronicles series. Starring Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, Emmy Rossum and Alden Englert, Beautiful Creatures is due to be released on 14th February.
Safe Heaven by Nicholas Sparks
Following the success of his other book-to-movie transformations (A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Dear John), it is no surprise that producers also snapped up the rights to Safe Heaven. Directed by Lasse Hallström, this romantic thriller starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and Cobie Smulders is released on 13th February.
